Sometimes life takes us down roads we never expected.

We make decisions. We experience setbacks. We go through difficult seasons. And sometimes, after everything we've been through, starting over can feel like the hardest part.

For individuals returning home after incarceration, the challenges can be even greater.

Finding a job, rebuilding relationships, securing housing, managing finances, and adjusting to everyday life can feel overwhelming—especially when you don't know where to turn.

At Hearts of Hearts Foundation, we believe that everyone deserves an opportunity to move forward.

We don't want to define you by your past. We want to help you prepare for your future.

That's why we're developing Second Chance, New Beginnings.

This program is designed to provide encouragement, education, mentorship, and practical tools to help individuals rebuild their lives, strengthen their independence, and create new opportunities.

We understand that starting over takes courage. And while we cannot promise that every road will be easy, we want you to know that you don't have to walk it alone.

Our proposed 12-week program will focus on the skills and support that can make a meaningful difference in everyday life.

What will Our participants learn?

Personal Growth & Life Skills

Building confidence, developing healthy habits, setting goals, strengthening communication, and learning how to make positive decisions.

Employment Readiness

Learning how to prepare a résumé, complete job applications, practice interviewing, understand workplace expectations, and explore career opportunities.

Financial Literacy

Understanding budgeting, banking, saving, managing expenses, and making informed financial decisions.

Entrepreneurship & Business Development

Through educational collaboration with Alpha & Omega Entrepreneur Academy, participants will have opportunities to explore business ideas, learn entrepreneurship fundamentals, and understand what it takes to start and manage a busin

Mentorship & Community Support

Connecting with positive mentors, receiving encouragement, building accountability, and learning how to identify resources that support personal and professional growth.

Family & Relationship Development

Exploring healthy communication, conflict resolution, rebuilding trust, and strengthening supportive relationships.

Community Resource Connections

Receiving guidance and referrals for available services such as housing assistance, transportation, identification documents, education, employment, and other essential needs.

Who Can Apply?

Second Chance, New Beginnings is designed for adults age 18 and older who:

Are returning home after incarceration.
Have previous involvement with the justice system and are working toward stability.
Are preparing for community reintegration.
Want to develop life skills, employment readiness, or entrepreneurship knowledge.
Are willing to participate in education, mentorship, and personal development activities.

You do not have to have everything figured out before applying.

We want to meet you where you are and help you identify your next steps.

Program Requirements

To participate, applicants will be asked to:

Complete the Second Chance, New Beginnings application.
Participate in an introductory conversation with our program team.
Attend orientation before beginning the program.
Commit to the scheduled workshops and learning activities.
Work with program staff to develop a personal success plan.
Follow program attendance, conduct, and confidentiality guidelines.
Participate in progress check-ins and a final program evaluation.

The type of prior conviction does not automatically disqualify someone from consideration. Any additional eligibility requirements associated with specific funding sources or services will be explained during enrollment.

Program Cost: FREE

There are no application, enrollment, or participation fees.

What Do We Hope Participants Will Gain?

Our goal is for participants to complete the program with more than a certificate.

We want them to leave with greater confidence, practical skills, a clearer plan for their future, and connections that can help them continue moving forward.

We will work toward helping participants:

Develop an individualized personal and career success plan.
Improve their employment readiness and interviewing skills.
Strengthen financial and everyday life skills.
Explore educational, career, and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Build supportive relationships with mentors and community partners.
Identify resources that can support long-term stability.
